Maruti Suzuki will introduce its face lifted Alto to meet the upcoming Bharat IV emission norms. Maruti Suzuki Alto which is top in the list of Indian passenger car market from past many years, with facelifting it will get a new KB series engine. A-Star turned down engine may be used to keep the cost under check considering Chevrolet spark and Hyundai Santro as competiting models in this segment.
Maruti Suzuki MD & CEO S Nakanishi said, “We have exhausted our quota of new cars with eight new launches in India in the past three years. Now we are looking at strengthening our leadership by refreshing our old portfolio.â€
Maruti Suzuki has developed and invested Rs 1,200 Crore on new KB series petrol engines, which will be strapped in several of these carsâ€. Maruti will also strap Bharat IV compliant engines in Swift and Grand Vitara before April 2010. |
